Because every Network Trail is sign-posted to be walked in either direction, this Circular Trail (more correctly an ‘8’ shape), can be walked in several ways, even as a traverse route to or from Agiassos. At the Karkavoura ravine the predominant vegetation is pines while at the Perassia ravine it is olive trees. The Saint Dimitrios area is a small valley surrounded by forests. It is known for its cool microclimate and because in the past it served as a place of rest for travellers and their animals, it still has coffee shops. The chapel of the Saint peeps through the fruit trees. You ascend to the highest point of the Trail, the peak of Kasteli Hill with the white chapel of Taxiarchis, via a stepped cobblestone path. From there the trekker has a view to Agiassos and from this position he can observe the surrounding ridges and the ravine.
