A Trail that leads from Skopelos, the southernmost and highest-altitude village of Gera, to country locations at the highest altitudes of Gera and above the dominion of olive trees. The Kariona region spreads on a plateau surrounded by pine forests and partitioned by small plots of land with orchards and a few holiday houses. To the south, the limestone rise of Peristeri stands guard. The ascent to the top compensates the trekker with its breathtaking view and the local flora. The trail starts from the Platania spot on the rural road, 2km west of the start of Karionas. The flat summit holds pleasant surprises during the flowering season of a variety of plants. Following the signs we descend from a different side which still leads to Platania. The descent to the village also follows a different path (Saint Paraskevi), but it finishes in the centre of Skopelos with the refreshing fountains.
